Why you need Cooktop Repair
If you notice any of these, it is time to call:
- One burner clicks nonstop even with the cooktop off
- A spark module misfiring because moisture or spill residue has bridged an electrode. Cleaning almost always resolves it.
- Flame ignites, then dies when you let go of the knob
- The thermocouple or flame sensor isn't holding the safety valve open. The system is functioning correctly - the part has worn past spec.
- Radiant element only heats on the highest setting
- Points to the infinite switch, not the element itself. A cheap part, but one that is frequently misdiagnosed as a failed element.
- Induction surface shuts off mid-cook
- Usually the cooling fan or a board temperature sensor. Induction cooktops protect themselves early, so an error code is often a warning rather than a component failure.
- Induction won't recognize the pan
- More often the pan than the cooktop. If a magnet doesn't stick to the pan's base, the hob simply can't detect it. No repair fixes that.
- Surface glass has cracked
- The one issue we generally can't fix economically. We'll tell you that quickly rather than charge for a diagnosis with an obvious answer.
