Why you need Range Repair
If you notice any of these, it is time to call:
- Burner clicks repeatedly without lighting
- A dirty or cracked igniter, or spilled residue bridging the electrode on the burner cap. Cleaning resolves this more often than a parts replacement, so that is always where we start.
- Flame catches but dies when you release the knob
- The thermocouple or flame sensor isn't confirming a sustained flame to the safety valve. It is the system working as designed - the part has simply worn past the point where it holds the valve open.
- One electric element stays cold while others work
- The element itself, the infinite switch feeding it, or a burnt receptacle behind it. Burnt receptacles are common and often the reason a freshly replaced element fails again within weeks.
- All burners click even with the range switched off
- A spark module misfiring because spilled liquid has bridged an electrode. Annoying rather than dangerous, and cleaning usually stops it.
- Display won't light up or buttons don't respond
- The control board or its power supply. Worth diagnosing carefully since the board is a significant cost on higher-end ranges and should be confirmed before ordering.
- Gas smell near the appliance
- Stop using it, get everyone out, and call your gas company - not us. That is not a repair situation, and we will tell you exactly that on the phone.
